A word on donations
Donation – noun
- an act or instance of presenting something as a gift grant, or contribution.
- a gift, as to a fund; contribution.
When you give a gift, you give out of the kindness of your heart, and for the most part, there is an expectation that the person you gave the gift to will spend it on what you expect them to spend it on. In the interest of transparency what is given to ORION will go towards helping an individual in need or operating cost of our organization. You have a fundamental right to know how that donation is spent. However that gift is spent, rest assured it will be spent responsibly and legally.
Operating costs can be anything from purchasing copier paper, paying the electric bill for our office, gas to help our volunteer Board Members, or even our volunteers attend meetings. Outreach costs can be anything from purchasing food to hand out at a local community barbacue or materials for community outreach events. Either way, you may request at any time a letter of how your money was spent via E-Mail if you do not donate anonamously. All donations, and names and contact information of donors will ALWAYS be kept confidential, and will NEVER be sold to anyone for any reason.
Help make the world a better place for all. Give your time by helping with simple outreach, formulating policy on the Board of Directors, planning events, teaching others about poverty, researching demographics, advocating for our vulnerable populations--there is plenty to do. We also offer internships for students or those looking to gain valuable work experience.
Gain valuable experience in helping others while learning what is needed to operate a 501c3. College credit is possible depending on the program you are studying.
Creating policy, operating procedures, making decisions on the future of the organization, developing projects, there is always something to do. Contact us today for more information.

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."
I have seen great acts of kindness from all manner of souls. It is in our compassion that we learn and teach others to take care of one another. In the end, all we have is each other. Thank you for your donation of time, money, ideas, or even a kind share.
